A mere 20 minutes’ drive to the inland side of the luxurious Marbella Club Hotel, the Golf Resort and Riding Stables are located in the hills of Benahavís which is where both horse and golfers are able to enjoy stunning panoramas of the Sierra as well as Marbella Costa as well as the North African coastline as they take part in their sports activities.

The course was designed with Dave Thomas, the 18-hole Marbella Club measures just over 6,900 yards from back markers, and boasts a formidable par of 73 that is equivalent to the length. The bunker and green sites have been built to an extremely high standard and the water, which is as in the form of waterfalls and lakes, is required to be played multiple times throughout the course.

Two nine-hole loops are played over steep terrain before returning to the clubhouse on the lowest point of the course, so golfers may often feel like it’s a matter ”uphill and down dale “up the hill, down valley” here.

The front nine provides the unique experience of three consecutive par 5s, which not only represent a severe test early in the round but also offer some of the most picturesque scenery on the golf course. The tee on the seventh is the highest point on the course and provides a panoramic view of the coastline, Gibraltar and across to Africa. The course culminates in one of the most dramatic 18th tees in Europe. One of many elevated tees, the par 5, reachable in two for some pros, is a memorable final hole.
